當(dāng)年手工制作的大理石欄桿線條, 沒有扎實(shí)的基本功,根本沒辦法完成?!?0世紀(jì)70年代,蔣耀輝在當(dāng)?shù)匾呀?jīng)小有名氣,他參與了1977年北京毛主席紀(jì)念堂工程建設(shè)。提起當(dāng)年的建設(shè)景,蔣耀輝仍記憶猶新。從事雕刻30多年來,他致力吸收現(xiàn)代美學(xué)的審美元素加以強(qiáng)烈現(xiàn),在繼承傳統(tǒng)雕刻藝術(shù)的基礎(chǔ)上推陳出新,開發(fā)出漢白龍眼面肌理。

作為大理石欄桿雕刻蔣家的代表之一,蔣耀輝的名字常常被業(yè)內(nèi)人士提起,這源于他與眾不同的藝術(shù)理念。他的大理石欄桿雕刻作品從不走他人的路子,力求開創(chuàng)自己的特色。他曾說,打石頭也要琢天地之精華,傳人間之韻。
